2008-07-14 - 10:45 a.m. i figured that since i do still stop by here frequently to see if there's anything going on, that i would actually post... for the first time this year amazingly enough. i've been very busy with this and that and i guess i will go roughly chronologically. i've lost almost 20lbs since the end of january. quit my diet for a bit because i missed chocolate and ice cream, but i'm slowly getting back on it. we did some minor renovations in the kitchen and bathroom. it's FANTASTIC! and now we're having a deck built. it's almost done and it's quite lovely and huge! very excited about the deck. i have a garden that i love thoroughly! we had a crappy spring and some things were slow starting or killed by late-may frost! my pumpkins had a very very late start as a result. they're up and growing now, but i'm not overly confident that i'll get anything fantastic this year. still, if the warm lasts well into september, then maybe. pray to the pumpkin gods for me. but everything else seems to be growing phenomenally (including the frickin weeds)! i've got strawberries, rhubbarb and peas up the ying yang at the moment. lots of little tomatoes getting started. lots of peppers starting too. the bean plants have erupted and are taking over. i expect an obscene bean yield. all very good. can't afford the price of gas anymore so i bought an electric scooter. i intend to quit my job soon because it is seriously the lowest pit of hell so i'm not sure how i'm going to pay off said scooter. i'm going to a friend's wedding in august and then plan to find a new, better-paying, non-hellish job asap. pray to the job gods for me! and we just got back from a wonderful vacation to the east coast! i've now been to all the provinces except for newfoundland. haven't been to any of the territories, though i've been told i was conceived in the nwt. does that count? anyway, it was a very beautiful and enjoyable experience. we even went to maine (and bangor, yes, i saw stephen king's house) and i ate seafood every day for about a week. it was great! if you want more details then stop by: http://pumpkinqueen144.livejournal.com/ that's about it for now! i may stop in again in another couple of months. no promises though.
