i got paid today!! woo-hoo!!! it's so wonderful to be getting paid again.

in other news, i hate reading week. it's robbed me of my chums. and though only a couple of them are actually students, most of my friends list seems to have disappeared.

of course, work has been really really slow the last two days, so that doesn't help. it gets pretty boring and then i really notice the lack of people to chat with.

dammit, i've got no one to amuse me!

anyway, the writing is going really well. i've got a lot of editing to do in my near future before i can send out to publishers again. i've also been hacking away at finishing the trilogy, though it's going slower than i would like at the moment.

i've started bringing my writing with me to work so i can use it to fill in those gaps when no one has anything for me to type/fax/file and the fones aren't ringing.

also, there's something i want to throw out there and see what people generally think. t and l pointed something out in my book - i have a mountain range called the holocaust mountains and they've questioned the appropriateness of it.

now, i know the word "holocaust" has earned some nasty connotations thanks to the nazis. but i was using it in the sense of blaze or conflagration because the mountain range is largely volcanic (though i realize now that i failed to mention that in the book) much like the pacific ring of fire.

cuz really, the "conflagration mountains" just doesn't cut it with me. it sounds... i dunno. just dumb. so i'd like to know what your thoughts are on it. is it hugely inappropriate to use "holocaust"? if so, does anyone have any great synonyms i could use?

this sort of thing is just way beyond me. me and politically correct just don't always get along. i really don't pay attention to this sort of thing very often. is using holocaust taboo like the n-word?

i guess that's about it for now.
