we just got back from the pool. i swam half a kilometre tonite. in 20 minutes. woo!

mike swam considerably less and whined about it a lot. then he made me leave early (i probably could have swam closer to 3/4 kilometre before getting wiped out) because he was tired.

the big baby.

i've been trying to convince him for a long time that he's getting way too out of shape and needs more exercise. he usually responded with something along the lines of "i'm in better shape than you!"

ha! mr. smartypants. or should i say flabbypants? muahaha!

apparently he's NOT in better shape than me. because i coulda swam circles around him tonite. even with me having to haul 50lbs more around than he has to.

take that!

hopefully he'll be convinced to take better care of himself now. he's officially in worse shape than i am. and that's not even taking into account that thanks to genetics he's probably got a cholesterol problem.

i know he's got high blood pressure.

aside from flab and possible arthritis, i am the picture of health. and really, the flab only affects the possible arthritis so the possible arthritis is the only real health concern!

boo-yah!

and i made it to my class today and rocked it. i'm 65% of the way through the excel course now! *yay* i should be started lesson 5 by tomorrow. so excited! i'm still pretty close to being on track to finishing excel by mid-month.

i have no idea how long it will take to do the certification, since i have to go through so many practice tests. but once i'm done the course i'll at least be able to demonstrate that i can use the program and get out there and find me some employment!

huzzah!

even though i don't normally do the new year's resolution thing, i'm definitely feeling incredibly motivated now that the holidays are over. i really want to get on the things i've been letting slide for the last few months: writing, losing weight, finding work.

so far, so good!

that's right. i'm still the queen of everything.

daily dose of stupid:
the business of stupidity
a reporter asked the famous lawyer clarence darrow if hard work was responsible for his success in court.
"i guess so," darrow answered. "i was raised on a farm. one hot day i was packing down stacks of hay, and by noon i was totally exhausted. the next day, i left the farm, never to return, and i haven't done a day of hard work since."
